This Thursday, June 6th at sunset we will welcome the sacred month of Dhul Hijjah. To honour and live these important holy days we invite you to a daily evening program at the Rhoda Masjid starting this Thursday, June 6th leading to Friday, June 14th between sunset (Maghrib ) and evening (Isha) prayers.
We are delighted to have Shaykh Hamdi Ben Aissa with us here in Ottawa to host this program and share with us daily his very inspiring reflections/readings on the deep spiritual meanings of Hajj alongside spiritually enhancing dhikr/meditation sessions.
The prophet may God continue to nourish his Light and being and our connection to him teaches us that:
“There are no days that are greater and in which good deeds are more beloved to God than these first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. So take this opportunity, to engage in deeper remembrance, celebration, and glorification of God.”
So these are the best days of the year and the deeds you do in these days are the best deeds of your life.
‘Deeds’ here is not simply a call to performative action but a call to engage our whole being towards the remembrance of our earnest longing, Union With God!
So come and consecrate sometime in these days of God, in the House of God, engaging in remembrance of God and exercises of consciousness and faith development with people of God to nourish and bring out the servant of God in you.
Please note that this is an adult program and a golden opportunity for you to experience deep focused meditative moments with your deepest and highest Self in this holy time. Please make sure to register to let us know you are coming and make a point to make this a daily appointment by coming on time with the intention of consecrating these 2 hours (roughly 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm) to God during these 8 days (I’tikaf).
